St. Louis CITY SC suffered a 1-0 defeat to Houston Dynamo on the road last Saturday. Neither team could find the back of the net through the first half. The Dynamo broke the scoreless tie with a goal in the 66th minute. Houston was able to maintain the 1-0 lead and pick up three points on the night.

St. Louis CITY SC vs Real Salt Lake

Saturday will be the sixth meeting between St. Louis and Salt Lake, but the first in 2025. CITY SC is 1-1-2 all-time against RSL. St. Louis played to a 1-1 draw to open the 2024 season against RSL and later fell 3-1 in March 2024 at Energizer Park. CITY SC’s only win against Real Salt Lake came in March 2023, when the team won 4-0, with goals from João Klauss (2),Nico Gioacchini and Rasmus Alm.

Scouting Real Salt Lake

Real Salt Lake sits in 13th place in the Western Conference standings with a 5-10-4 record. RSL faced Sporting Kansas City last weekend, settling for a 1-1 draw. In their last five matches, Salt Lake are 1-2-2, most recently earning a 2-0 win over D.C. United on June 14. At America First Field, Real Salt Lake are 3-4-1. RSL will be without their leading goal scorer and assists leader, midfielder Diego Luna, who is with the United States Men’s National Team for the Concacaf Gold Cup.
