A Look at Last Match
St. Louis CITY SC suffered a 2-1 defeat to Eastern Conference leaders Columbus Crew at Energizer Park last Sunday. Klauss opened the scoring with his first goal of the season, giving CITY SC an early lead. Despite creating several promising chances, St. Louis couldn’t hold on, as Columbus responded with two unanswered goals to complete the comeback. Notably, CITY SC Homegrown player Mykhi Joyner made his first appearance of the season for the first team, building on his MLS debut from last year.

St. Louis CITY SC vs Vancouver Whitecaps
Vancouver holds the edge in the all-time series with a 3-1-0 record. CITY SC took the first matchup 3-1 but has dropped the last three encounters. The series has been consistently high scoring, producing 19 goals across four matches. Notably, Homegrown midfielder Miguel Perez netted his first career goal in CITY SC’s inaugural win over Vancouver. This match also marks a homecoming of sorts for CITY SC forward Simon Becher, who will face his former club for the first time since being selected by the Whitecaps in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft.

Scouting Vancouver Whitecaps
Vancouver enters the match as one of the league’s most in-form teams, currently leading the Supporters’ Shield race with 19 points and boasting a league-best 17 goals this season. The Whitecaps are coming off a dominant performance against Austin FC, where they netted five goals, four of them courtesy of Brian White. White’s historic performance not only earned him Player of the Matchday honors but also etched his name in Vancouver’s history as the first player to score four goals in a single MLS match.
