VCFC opened the scoring in the 33rd minute with a goal from Tommy Musto and held the lead through halftime. CITY2 equalized in the 57th minute as Matteo Kidd netted his fifth goal of the season, while Brendan McSorley earned his sixth assist of the year. In the penalty shootout following regulation, Christian Olivares made key two saves, and Cam Cilley converted the winning penalty to secure the extra point for St Louis. CITY2 will have a bye weekend, before returning to action on Sunday, July 27, as they face Minnesota United FC 2 at Energizer Park with kickoff set for 6:00 p.m. CT.
