St Louis CITY2 picked up a 4-2 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 on Wednesday night in Burnaby, BC. The win extended CITY2’s unbeaten streak to eleven games. Mykhi Joyner opened the scoring for CITY2 from the penalty spot, notching his twelfth goal of the season. Vancouver equalized in first half stoppage time, but one minute later, Cam Cilley scored his second goal of the season to give CITY2 a 2-1 lead at halftime. Brendan McSorley added another goal just one minute into the second half, extending St Louis’ lead to 3-1. Whitecaps FC 2 pulled one back but Emil Jääskeläinen sealed the victory in the 86th minute, securing another three points for CITY2. St Louis returns home to Energizer Park for their third and final regular season meeting against Colorado Rapids 2 on Sunday, August 10, at 6 p.m. CT.
